Dub FX – Pedalling the Beat Up

6 Nov 2012

Independent street performer who creates vocal-only beats & then sings and raps over the top.

Benjamin Stanford aka Dub FX is a  completely independent worldwide street performer and studio recording artist  from , Melbourne, Australia. He uses a Boss RC-50 Loop Station along with a GT-10 effects pedal to create vocal-only beats, and then sings and raps over the top. His music is infused with drum and bass, hip-hop and dubstep influences and has the power to turn heads of all backgrounds across the world with his prolific street based performances on his self-written song texts. After having built up a solid fan-base, he has released several records, including a solo album, Everythinks A Rippleand many collaborative works. He still travels the world, and seems set to bring looper pedals some much deserved attention from across the genres.

Two songs from Everythinks A RippleFlow and Wandering Love,  feature his fiancée, Flower Fairy and  a street saxophonist named Mr Woodnote, who also uses similar looping techniques as Dub FX using a saxophone.

Dub FX is also the main founder of the label Convoyun.ltd which could be described as a co-op label for Dub FX’s own work and other people’s. To date artists that have released albums on Convoyunltd are: Flower Fairy, Sirius, Mr Woodnote, and Dub FX. With additional featured artists on separate songs of each album. Every album released through Convoy Un.Ltd has been produced by Dub FX with the exception for Dub FX & Sirius’s release, A Crossworlds, a collaboration album released in 2010 which revealed a much darker and instrumental sound.
