Delilah’s “Inside My Love” is a cover of ’70s soul singer Minnie Riperton‘s original of the same name . It bears features of minimal, trip hop, ambient, neo-soul music.

The tantric clip concerned with powerful ritual acts of body, speech, and mind is the brainchild of famed video director Jake Nava, who has attained credits for some of music’s biggest female stars, including Kylie Minogue, Alicia Keys and Beyoncé (directing both the “Crazy In Love” and “Single Ladies” videos).

It may seem at first that the song is about a woman asking a man to have sex with her. It’s about going deeper than that, attaining true intimacy. Despite the singer’s groans, a closer listen to the lyrics will prove that in this case love dealt with something way below skin-deep.
“This video is raw, honest and passionate. Jake and Delilah wanted to create something real and interesting. We didn’t want to use a bag of tricks to make it look glossy. It’s not perfect, and that’s why it’s so different! Working with Jake was easy from the beginning, I had a vision and he brought it to life! I hope people smile when they watch it, because it definitely makes me smile!” says Delilah of the video.

“Inside My Love” was released as a single on July 13th, with her debut album, From The Roots Up, via Atlantic Records as a digital download in the United Kingdom. The song peaked to number 60 on the UK Singles Chart.
